Nine ways to be happy

Way to be: Nine ways to be happy

              Quote by Gordon B. Hinckley

1) Be grateful

What does it mean to be grateful? Being grateful is to not want more when you already have more than enough. Being grateful is actually taking time to acknowledge that you have enough for right now and you're actually thankful for what you have. Its not wanting more or less, its not wanting others to feel pity or envy for you. Its being happy with what you have at the moment. Some humans now a days aren't grateful for what they have. Instead they either whine to their parents (some are 5 some are 45 ) because they want a car, a new phone, a bigger house, more clothes, more makeup, more screen time, new games to play , more time alone, more time outside so they can go out with their friends, more, more,  more ,more. Everyone always wants more. Not many people stop to consider that they already have enough. The only people who actually give away anything they have (or share what little they have) are the poor or homeless. Its them who share the most because they know what its like to have nothing. They know what its like to not have nice clothing, what its like to go for days without food/water, they know what its like to go for days without a nice shower, they know what its like to not have a roof over their heads/ have their home taken away from them.

  2) Be smart

Being smart is being able to make the right choices. Being smart is being able to show some self restraint and not letting your emotions get the best of you. Being smart is using your resources wisely and responsibly. Being smart is about not making stupid remarks or using drugs at an early age that can later on cause serious disease or addiction later on. Being smart is not letting work pile up on you and getting it done either when its due or ahead of time so you don't start panicking at the last minute. Being smart is  making a schedule or keeping an agenda to be reminded what  to do at a certain time or place when and whereto be at.

                                        3) Be involved in good works

What this means is that you should get involved with your community. You should do good things for others or those who don't have the ability to. Getting involved in good works might be to change the city for the better. Then again just think about it. What if we didn't live so close to the city of factories? We wouldn't have so many people diagnosed with asthma. Maybe we might actually be able to live up to 85 without getting cancer/heart disease/some breathing problem. People blame technology because children and teens spend a lot of time online rather than outside but the breathing capability seems better inside than out you know? Its not our fault that some of us don't exercise but then again why can adults judge? Some/most adults don't even exercise in the first place.

                                                       4) Be clean

To be happy one must be clean. Whys that? No one likes to do chores and no one likes to think about cleaning up the mess they made. So instead of lying in bed doing nothing or sitting on the couch contemplating life just clean up after yourself and then you have more time to goof around. Getting things done is better than to leave things half done because if they're half done you still have to worry about them. If you had finished what you were supposed to do a while back you wouldn't have to dread the moment that comes because you'll still have to do it. You can procrastinate, you can avoid it all you want but its still going to be there. You can run and you can hide but it'll never leave. Plus if you just get it over with it feels a whole lot better. If you take a shower after three days you'll feel extremely refreshed. Being clean is one of the best feelings in the world. You smell nice, your hairs soft, your skin feels smooth and its better to come back to a clean space than an area filled with trash and crumbs.

                                                  5) Be true
Being true is not being someone else. It means that even though you wish you were someone else you still have the dignity to be yourself. It also means that you're being honest and you're being who you are and you are who you are not someone you're not. It means that you're not impersonating anyone but yourself. You're basically being honest to everyone including yourself
To truly be yourself you need to be happy being who you are..

6) Be positive
Being negative about things won't do anything. if you keep thinking that you're a failure and cant do anything right you're not really helping yourself. You're denying what actual potential you do have.I really don't like hearing "Oh but I'm ALWAYS messing EVERYTHING up.", "This is all MY fault.", "I cant do ANYTHING right." Keeping all this in mind do you really do as you say? Do you really mess everything up? Is everything really your fault? Are you sure you can't do anything right? ( I swear if you said yes to any of these i will send a crab after you so it can pinch you in your sleep.) If you did mess everything up were you the one who created nuclear weapons by mistake? If everything is your fault are you the reason why there's a great amount of people who don't have rights? Are you the reason why there's discrimination? If you can't do anything right how did you manage to pass elementary? Don't be so negative on yourself because its always worse in your head. For example if you drop a pencil and while you're picking it up you hit your head on the table, a handful of people laugh. Now in your head you think that people are still going to remember this until next week but the reality is that they won't remember it (or find it funny) in the next five minutes. If you're having a bad day always remember it could be worse, but no matter how bad it is it's still possible to make it through the day (unless there's a murderer on the lose or your city just got bombed then that's around the worse it can get.)

“I always like to look on the optimistic side of life, but I am realistic enough to know that life is a complex matter.”

— Walt Disney (n source from success.com)

“Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn’t learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn’t learn a little, at least we didn’t get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn’t die; so let us all be thankful.”33

— Buddha (same source as Walt Disney)

7) Be humble
Being humble is better than being narcissistic. Being humble is that being in the spotlight isn't very important while doing something else is. For example helping someone carry things, give food to those that need it. Do nice things for those that deserve it without calling attention to yourself. Its when attention is your least priority and being proud of it.

8) Be still
I guess being still means to stop rushing. To be still for a while like as in take some time to relax. Without all the stress piling up on you and stuff like that. Without fidgeting all the time you're able to sort of like relax. Meditation is a great way to stay still and great for an attempt to clear one's mind. If you stay still you have a lot more time to enjoy yourself.

9) Be prayerful

" There they are, nine Be's which, if observed, will bring handsome dividends to say any young man or women. They will add sparkle to your days and peace to your nights. They will save you from heartache and pala. They will bring purpose into your life and give direction to your energies.
They will bring you friends of your own kind. They will protect you from associations that would pull you down and deflect you from your course.
This is a time to be happy. This is the time to feel joy and make friends and enjoy the best this life has to offer. What i have tried to put forth....are simply a few suggestions, gained from many years of living, to help you do just that. The world will tell that the certain kinds of things will bring you happiness- things such as popularity and possessions and satisfying your baser desires.
If today you find yourself only drifting as a leaf in a steam, get hold of yourself and determine you will do better.
At railroad grade crossing, signs of warning were once common. Two cross arms were emblazoned with the words " Stop. Look, Listen." They meant that a train could be roaring down the tracks and you had better be alert.
I was riding a train in the Midwest years ago. I looked out the window to my left. A road ran parallel to the tracks. A car with a boy and a girl was speeding a little faster than the train. The car moved ahead until i can no longer see it . Suddenly, the locomotive whistle sounded and the train screeched to a halt as the brakes gripped the wheels. We looked out the window onto the other  side. There was a mangled car. Police cars soon converged, followed by the ambulance. The boy and girl were both dead. The road they were traveling crossed the tracks. They did not stop, look, or listen. It all happened in an instant.
The better way to Be is the way of these nine Be's.
The years will inevitably pass, and pass quickly. Today your day of resolution. Promise yourself to make something good of (your) preicous life."
